Greenland UK has announced the successful completion of the first phase of construction at its Ram Quarter development in Wandsworth (SW18), London.
The redevelopment of the historic Ram brewery as a new heart of the town centre has seen the restoration of heritage brewery buildings and the creation of new retail, restaurant and leisure space. Set around a central boulevard and the river Wandle, which flows through the area, the development has seen the site opened to the public for the first time in centuries.
The completed first phase includes 338 apartments, comprising 14 heritage homes and high-specification new-build homes. All apartments are served by a 24-hour concierge, high-quality appliances, and luxurious interior features such as limestone bathroom floors, underfloor heating and built-in wardrobes in the bedrooms, and some of the buildings offer private residents’ gardens.
The announcement comes as many residents have already moved in, creating a vibrant community in Wandsworth’s newest hub.
Taotao Song, UK Managing Director for Greenland, said that the completion of phase one marked an important milestone for Greenland in the UK:
“Our ambition at Ram Quarter is to create a thriving new heart for Wandsworth, with new homes, and retail, restaurant and leisure space to complement the amenities of Southside shopping centre and Wandsworth High Street as well as the fashionable boutiques, galleries and cafés along Old York Road. We hope residents and visitors alike will enjoy exploring this new area of Wandsworth.
“At the same time this milestone marks the successful completion of our first major project in the UK as we bring our global expertise to London. We now look forward to turning our attention to future phases of development at Ram Quarter, as well as seeking new opportunities across the UK.”
