Ram Quarter's on-site brewery Sambrook's has again hosted and spearheaded the UK's national beer celebration Beer Day Britain - which is celebrated every year on 15 June.
Sambrook's brewer John Hatch brewed a special beer, using a new hop that's so new it doesn't have a name - just a number. The beer had an ABV of 4.3% and notes of candied orange peel. It was extremely popular with those gathered to celebrate.
Sambrook's ran a competition on social media to name the beer. The winning name was 'Samsuma'. The lucky winner, from Leigh-On-Sea in Essex, won a 6-pack of beer and also free pints on his next visit to the taproom.
At 7pm, the assembled company led the lusty sing-a-long Beer Day Britain anthem, ending with a big cheer and applause from the bar.
In an additional mark of generosity to the local community and beer lovers from further afield, Sambrook's also offered free tours of the development's fascinating Heritage Centre. The tours were fully booked and popular with visitors.
