This week Greenland UK hosted a community evening at its Ram Quarter development in Wandsworth, together with St George's Hospital Charity, to support the work at St George’s Hospital, Tooting.
The event brought local residents and businesses together with representatives from St George’s Hospital Charity to learn more about the hospital’s work across children’s services. The evening was generously supported by Ram Quarter tenant Sambrook’s Brewery, which offered its taproom to the charity along with its award-winning beer.
St George’s is Ram Quarter’s local hospital, serving 3.5 million people across the borough of Wandsworth, south London and more widely in the south east of England. It is one of the UK's leading teaching hospitals, and one of the largest hospitals in Europe, offering general care such as accident and emergency, maternity services, and care for older people and children. The hospital also offers specialist care for more complex injuries and illnesses, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, renal transplant, cancer and stroke, and is one of London's four major trauma centres. The hospital's Accident and Emergency department features in the Channel 4 documentary series "24 Hours in A&E".
The event provided an opportunity for new connections and support networks to be developed. Sarah McCullough, the Charity's director of fundraising, and Richard Chavasse, a St George’s clinician specialising in paediatric respiratory medicine, discussed the work of the charity in supporting patient care, and were able to talk one-to-one with many of those present.

Sambrook’s taproom is located in Bubbling Well Square at the centre of the Ram Quarter development – a landmark mixed-use scheme and new retail and residential destination for south London. Greenland has established a thriving community through its wholesale transformation of the historic Ram Brewery site, famed for being the UK’s oldest continuously operating brewery.
Greenland and Ram Quarter’s residents and tenants are regular supporters of local Wandsworth and London charities including Great Ormond Street and the Wandsworth Foodbank, in addition to Greenland's ongoing relationship with the NHS and previous donations to St George’s.
