Ram Quarter last weekend sponsored a very successful special Jubilee edition of the annual Old York Road Unplugged festival. The festival was organised and run by the Wandsworth Town BID (Business Improvement District) with the participation also of a wide array of local businesses. The section of Old York Road outside Wandsworth Town station was closed to road traffic on Sunday 5th June, and the event attracted thousands of visitors over the course of the afternoon. There was plenty to keep the whole family entertained, including live music from every decade of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, fun and games, and copious strawberries and cream too. Other activities included children's face painting and rides, and competitions for children and adults. There was a great selection of special themed Jubilee treats and drinks available from Wandsworth Town’s favourite dining spots and from eateries on the street, and the event was attended by the new Mayor of Wandsworth.
In Ram Quarter, Sambrook’s Brewery was serving regal cocktails, and had live music performances, and also brought back the popular bottomless brunch with Crust Bros pizza for a special limited return over the long weekend. And Schooner bar in its idyllic riverside setting had live music too, strawberries and cream, and specially selected British drinks including a brand new English Sparkling Wine.
Ram Quarter and Greenland are delighted to have helped support the local community at this fantastic annual event.
